From 29 February 2024, it will be MANDATORY<\/strong> to include the 6-digit<\/strong> Harmonised System (HS) code on Air Waybills (MAWB<\/strong> and HAWB<\/strong>) for transit of goods – import and export – through the United Arab Emirates.<\/p>\n\n

The new regulation is due to the Advance Cargo Information (ACI)<\/strong> programme developed by the UAE National Advance Information Centre (NAIC), which requires the completion of advance information on goods being imported, exported or in transit through the UAE.<\/p>\n\n

\u2022 Consolidated Cargo – The HS code must be included in the Waybill House (HAWB), in the HTS section in FHL \/XFZB, i.e. HTS\/293890. <\/p>\n\n

\u2022 Direct Cargo – The HS code must be included in the Master Waybill (MAWB), in the RTD section in FWB\/ xFWB, NH identifier, i.e. NH\/ 060314.<\/p>\n\n

As a result, it is crucial that all clients send information and data about their cargo in advance in order to fully comply with the regulation, which comes into force on 29 February 2024. <\/p>\n\n
